An Irish Wish for my Friends!
Wishing you a rainbow
For sunlight after showers—
Miles and miles of Irish smiles
For golden happy hours—
Shamrocks at your doorway
Luck and laughter too,
And a host of friends that never ends
Each day your whole life through!
And an old Irish Blessing that was said at our wedding:
May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine
Warm upon your face,
The rains fall soft upon your fields.
And, until we meet again,
May god hold you in the palm of his hand.
And then we were dismissed to go drink.
(At least I think that’s the one that was said at our wedding… Ummm… I’ll have to go dig out our wedding ceremony scripts from wherever they are… )
Yes, I’m a true wee Irish Lass! I’m sure you’re all saying, “Ahhhh… So that explains the drinking.” I take my heritage seriously, people.
NOW, I need to plan a big Irish feast for dinner and tons of green beer. I’m planning a little St. Patrick’s Day thing in spite of my dreaded liver ultra-sound tomorrow morning… Hell, I better drink up while I can. I have until next Wednesday to get my fill… I see the doctor with my results then, and I have a sneaking suspicion that the words “lay off” and “alcohol” will be used in the same sentence. Let’s say a little Irish blessing that he uses “slow down” and not “no.” I’m scared.
(I mean, one more night of drinking, right before my ultra-sound won’t matter right??? Who schedules and ultra-sound of your liver on the day after St. Patty’s Day if it did! Right???)
ETA: I soooo rescheduled that u/s. What? Did they think I’d actually let them view my liver in an up close and personal way the day after St. Patty’s???? Um, hell to the no.
