The Mister did good. As always. (I’m one lucky gal.)
We had a big Mother’s Day bash. After sleeping in and waking up to a great breakfast and a big pot of coffee (which I was impressed with… the Mister has never had a sip of coffee in his life and has certainly never made it…,) he cooked a fabulous lunch, slaving away all day long. We didn’t eat until 3:30ish… But, we didn’t mind, we had plenty of sangria to hold us over… More than one pitcher (or two…) And beer… And wine… Good man!
He is the ultimate Grill Master, I’m telling you… He would seriously kick Bobby Flay’s ass were he to show up… Look at these ribs! They tasted as good as they look, too.
I have to brag on him by showing this plate full of good stuff… We had ribs, corn casserole (yummmie,) asparagus, a great salad and good bread. Oh, and I forgot to take a picture, but some lemon pie for dessert.
Not only did he spoil me rotten yesterday, feeding me, boozing me and not letting me lift a finger, he got me the bracelet that I’ve been asking for forever. I kept telling him that it wasn’t just a gift for me, it was also a gift for him. A gift that could make all future gift giving a breeze. Guess he finally decided he was tired of coming up with shit to buy me, so he got it. (It also helped that my mil went to the store and bought two beads and called him to ask him if they were beads I already had… Knowing full well that I didn’t have the bracelet yet… Sort of prompting forcing him into doing it… Good going, mil!) I bet he’s now wishing he had done it a year ago. Think of all that last minute thought and frantic shopping he could have avoided… All he has to do now is buy me a bead or two for every holiday that warrants a gift. (Or when he wants something really badly… I’ll gladly take a bead bribe.)
It’s a Troll bracelet like this, but minus the beads, with the hydrangea clasp:
(It’s clicky, if you’re interested…)
The ils and The Gs joined in on the fun, too.. They ate, drank, and were merry with us all afternoon… We even went back to their house to let the girls play some more so the merriment didn’t have to end. Dr. G. brought me and the mil some gorgeous flowers and the ils gave me some bejeweled flip-flops that Henry is mesmerized by, along with the beads that she was concerned I already had… 😉
Aren’t these pretty? The Gs are such sweet friends.
It really was a super, ultra, fantastic day. Thanks, Mister Man. I really appreciate everything that you do. I’m a lucky lady. I need to show you how much I appreciate you more often. (But, sorry, don’t read more into that than was intended, k? Unless you have some beads in hand…)
Oh, and last, but certainly not least, the little miracles that made me able to celebrate today:
