I guess it’s kind of odd that I would be so damn excited about getting a quick shower in this morning! But, it’s a big deal. How do other moms of two little ones handle this situation? I cannot trust Avery to be alone for very long with the baby. She is still too little. She doesn’t quite get that she can seriously injure him when she squeezes him, falls on him, rolls on him, plays the drums on his head, etc… At least she is getting better about understanding that she cannot give him small toys, cheerios or pennies, though. She has also starting trying to pick him up and carry him. Not good… He weighs almost as much as she does. Plus, she is not even three… She thinks
carrying dragging him by the leg or neck is just fine.
So, how do other moms take a shower with two little ones awake? I usually just wait until one is sleeping or wait until the Mister is home to keep an eye out… But, today I HAD to shower before leaving the house… I’m beyond baseball cap here… So, I trapped Baby Henry in his exersaucer, which made him scream bloody murder, and Avery was left to play. She doesn’t leave the baby alone for long, so I had to time it just right… I waited until she was good and busy doing something time consuming in her playroom, like lining up all of her princess dolls and assembling each outfit they are to wear at their feet, and jumped in and out as fast as I could. Isn’t it funny how you can learn to take a shower and eat a sandwich in under 1 minute when you are a mom? Just like you can carry ten thousand things…. It takes the Mister four trips to the car for the groceries, but I can get them all AND the baby in one. Anyway, just wanted to give myself props for actually getting clean today (No shaving, though… I’m seriously talking I was in and out in under 1 minute!) I may be prickly, but I’m sparkling clean! Now, let’s see if I can get my hair fixed and makeup applied….
