I did not make it to “cookie store” yesterday to stock up, so I’m out of diet Dr. Pepper. This is very serious. I have to have two in the afternoons. Have to. I’m all out…. And, it’s my own damn fault. I opted to keep on driving right past the store last night on my way home from tennis. I knew I was out… I knew I would panic when it got close to time for my afternoon caffeine fix. Yesterday, I loaded up the kids and drove a good ways to find a Sonic. They have diet Dr. Pepper. And a drive-thru. I think we are headed there again today after “quiet time.” Oh hell, maybe I’ll just suck it up and go to the store. (It’s not as simple as it sounds, people. I promise.) Nah, I’ll probably just ride through Sonic again… So much easier than hauling Avery and Henry into a store.
Seriously, how do you take an infant and a 3 yo to the grocery store by yourself???? How is it possible? If I put Henry (21 lbs., btw) in his carrier and put him in the back of the cart, there is no room for groceries. And Avery is NOT walking. Hell no. She has to be in the buggy seat. Henry is too big for the sling now, too. That’s what I did at first… It was great, Avery in the seat and Henry in the sling. However, his big (bright red) ass is not getting in the sling… Plus, he just doesn’t like it in there anymore. No point in having a sore shoulder and a crying baby. So, I just don’t see how I can make it work… See, I’m not just lazy. I am avoiding a potential disaster. Avery loose in a grocery store.
So, off to the drive-thru it is… Maybe, since it’s on the way to Sonic, I’ll drive through the liquor store window and stock up on some other beverages that I drank up…. Nothing like whipping through there in the afternoon and waiting in line with all of the stay-at-home-moms and dads within a ten mile radius… Needless to say, it’s not a zippy little drive-thru.
